Prosecutor General Jeff Sesssion has dismissed FBI official Andrea McCabe, who is often accused of political partiality with President Trump, reports the BBC.
In January, Mr. McCabe resigned from his post as deputy director. He has been deeply involved in the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton of the use of private email and Russia's alleged attacks on the presidential campaign.
The download comes two days before he turns 50 and is expected to retire with the rights he is entitled to.
President Trump welcomed the Attorney General's decision with a message on Twitter.
The session leading the Justice Department said the decision was made following a broad and fair investigation of Mr. McCabe.
He said the internal investigation report concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized statement to the media.
In a statement late Friday, Session said that “based on the General Inspector's report, I immediately interrupted Andrew's employment. McCabe immediately. ”
