Road tax warnings at <x0nd Street of the Nation”, which constitutes the largest road engineering project in Albania's history, have been commented in various ways by representatives of institutions in Kosovo.
Infrastructure Minister Paul Lekaj has indicated that he is interested in previously defining things in terms of highways, saying that the best models for the development of this project will be taken into account.
According to him, it should be viewed as the possibility of concessioning road fees on the condition that the maintenance of roads is made by the concessionor.
Media in Albania report that from today every vehicle that will be passed on Nation Street is expected to pay between 5 and 10 euros round-the-clock.
It is taught that the tax will be paid at the entrance to the Calimash tunnel. Meanwhile, on the basis of expert analysis, if the highway implements the minimum traffic rate for an axis of this level -- 70,000 cars per day -- provides an annual income of about 13m euros, without counting high tariffs on heavy vehicles.
