In a series of tuber publications addressed to the American president, Musk is “Against import obligations in general, but current rules make things very difficult. It's like racing in an Olympic race dressed in lead shoes. ”
Tesla has made great efforts to build cars in China, like the largest automotive market in the world, but has hit barricades in negotiations with local authorities, in part because Musk is keen to maintain full control of any local enterprise.

Trump cited one of Musk's status in his announcement of new tariffs and American automotive producers that have not been dealt with fairly by trade regulations worldwide.
