Montenegro has declared a Russian diplomat persona non grata and has refused reconciliation for the Russian Federation honourary consul for action, the Montenegrin government announced.
Montenegro's “government has taken the decision to declare a diplomatic representative accredited at the Russian Federation embassy for persons non grata and withdraw the compatibility to act the Russian Federation honour consul in Montenegro. The Russian Federation's embassy in Podgorica has been informed of the measures by the seven-day deadline for the diplomatic representative to leave Montenegro”, the Montenegrin government announced, the Express newspaper broadcast.
Montenegro has reportedly made this decision in co-ordination with Allies, in accordance with measures undertaken by members of the European Union and NATO, and “related to Russia's action and the nervous gas attack on the territory of the United Kingdom, which Montenegro, in sign of solidarity with British partners, immediately condemned.
Montenegro's RTV commemorates that Prime Minister Dusko Markovic ordered yesterday that Montenegro is obliged to follow EU policy and be solid with NATO.
