European Union Delegation chief in Albania, Mrs. Romana V Godin has depreciated statements by politicians and senior officials in Albania and Kosovo for a customs-free border between the two countries, Koha Ditore writes today.
Ambassador V Godin has made it clear Friday, from the border crossing point of Morin, to the Albanian-Kosovo border, where it was for inspection of the work's performance for the joint customs, that Albania and Kosovo will be without customs only when they are EU members.
The question of “Koha Ditore” how he would comment on statements by senior officials in Albania and Kosovo, including those of Prime Minister Edi Rama, for a Kosovo- Albania without customs, V Godin replied: “The moment both countries are members of the EU will not have customs between these two countries, as there will be no customs between these countries and other EU member states. The important thing is that we facilitate all traffic that will circulate at this point of border crossing”.
On this visit, Morin's border crossing point was accompanied by Albanian Customs General Director Belinda Ikonomi, Kosovo Customs General Director Bahri Berisha, as well as senior Border Police officials from both countries.
