He has made it clear that KFOR's mission is not involved in talks on something like that, but that he has not denied the fact that it might exist as an idea.
“We are not part of this, we are not involved in this process. Could be an idea. I don't know if it's just an idea, or just speculation, but this is something that can wake up the situation, could trigger other situations across the Balkans”, Cuoci said.
“So when we talk about exchange of territories; this is very big and it doesn't only connect to these two countries (Kosovo and Serbia). But, of course, this is not in our mandate; this decision is made at the highest levels and is not a decision that can be made, perhaps, only in Pristina and Belgrade”, he has said.
Whatever the solution, however, we will be here to support the peaceful process, since whatever is done, it should be done peacefully”.
Asked whether you see the danger of turning past into the Balkans, Cuoci has confirmed that “as an international community I don't believe any country would like to return past”
