Kosovo Police's inevitable problems stem from the problems of the Kosovo Police Inspectorate. This, according to the deputy director of the Kosovo Institute for Justice, Ehat Miftaraj, is due to the policy interference in the justice system, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
In the interview given “Cohe Ditore”, he has said that interest groups and policy groups exercise control in the Kosovo Police through the Inspectorate. Miftaraj has also talked about the political impact of IPK managers' selection and illegal changes that, according to him, have made politics.
For all scandals that have occurred in the Kosovo Police, Miftaraj is guilty of IPK, which for these years has housed police managers.
How could you describe IPK's work?
Miftarian: The Kosovo Police Inspectorate was established in 2008 as an independent mechanism of control of the work of the Kosovo Police, respectively, with competencies and responsibilities to prevent, uncover and investigate criminal acts committed by police officials indiscriminate the rank or position they hold.
