Over 300 people accommodated at the Pavilion Hotel and Kazino have been evacuated, some with the help of a helicopter. According to the head of civil defense in the Philippines, Johnny Yu, the missing are 19.
Of these, two working on hotel security cameras were blocked and rescue epics are trying to get them out. The victims were all members of the facility staff, including two guards. Six people were transported to the hospital for smoke asphyxiators.
Rescue teams and law enforcement officers have sealed off the hotel area, located in the heart of the Manila tourist district. Tens of fire vehicles intervene at the scene.
