The Vetevendosje Movement has decided not to surrender and after ratification of demarcation with Montenegro. They will address the Constitutional Court for this.
The MP of this Movement Albulen Haxhiu has told Kosovo Press that they are already preparing the course to hand over to the Constitutional Court, as they have enough arguments that with this agreement, the country's territorial integrity has been violated.
At once after the ratification of this bill in the Kosovo Assembly, we as a parliamentary group have discussed the steps we will take further and agreed to send this bill to the Constitutional Court. The deadline for sending this case to the Constitutional Court is eight days and we are working in this direction. Since yesterday morning we have started with our work, constitutionally. We have enough arguments, because territorial integrity has been violated, one of the main elements of the state that is territory. There have also been many other violations, which, of course, we will reason on our course to send to the Constitutional Court”, she said.
Although he says they have no good experiences with the Constitutional Court, Haxhiu expects this time the Constitutional Constitution to reject the impacts that can be done, as he has in many other cases.
According to her, the Constitutional Court should reject this agreement because, Haxhiu says, it seriously violates territorial integrity.
“We don't have good experiences in terms of the Constitutional Court's decisions or judgments. I'm saying this about the fact that there are many subjects, or disputes we've sent to the Constitutional Court in terms of the special court case, the April agreement. The Amnist Law but other cases, where the court because of pressures, because they were the themes that produced pressures from locals, internationals and constitutional courts, have been one of the institutions that has been greatly influenced by these pressures and, most times or have given up on the treatment of the subject, especially when at the helm of this constitutional court it was Mr. Hasan and has not seriously dealt with the subjects we've prosecuted at the Constitutional Court... However, I don't want to judge from today. The subject that we're going to prepare will be extremely professional, based and documented by the constitution and other documents that we have and related to. Of course, I expect the Constitutional Court to reflect and act in accordance with the constitution and not accept influences, which can come during the handling of this case”, she said.
And as he talks about the session held days ago, where this agreement was ratified, Haxhiu says he was unable to prevent ratification of the demarcation after seven MPs were arrested.
And commenting on US Ambassador Greg Delaway's statements, which was tough with the VV, which on that day used tear gas in session, Haxhiu stresses that the ambassador's approach can often be problematic, as it seems to be influential in Kosovo Assembly deputies and that this should come to an end.
I am convinced that these know that Kosovo has lost territory. But we're not representatives of ambassadors here. We are representatives of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. We're a democratic state. The approach to ambassadors can often be quite problematic. Because it seems influential in the work of deputies of the Kosovo assembly. Somehow it seems that the Kosovo republic's assembly is operating in two rooms. One ambassador room, one room of deputies. I believe it's time when these things have to stop. We have tremendous respect for the contribution the various states, including the US, have made to Kosovo. But I believe it's time for us to decide for ourselves and of course keep our friends. But first respect their mandate, which they have in Kosovo”, he said.
Haxhiu points out that he has been extremely concerned with the behaviour of their former colleagues, who already act as the Independent Group of Deputies, who he says have done harm by their actions.
She even refuses that Vetevendosje has split up, saying there has been only resignation. /
