Finland has preceded Norway to the happiest country on earth, according to the United Nations report.
The 2018 World Happiness Report presents the ongoing decline of the United States, as the world's largest economy struggles with a crisis of obesity, substance abuse and depression, reports the “The Guardian”, the Periscope broadcast.
The study shows that the U.S. has declined to 18, five countries below, compared to 2016. Top fours belongs to Nordic countries, led by Finland, followed by Norway, Denmark and Iceland.
Burundi in East Africa is ranked the most unhappy country in the world, which for many years has been marked by civil wars and various attacks.
Countries that close the list of unhappiness are: Rwanda, Yemen, Tanzania, South Sudan, and the Central Republic of Africa also includes Syria.
For the first time, the United Nations has also considered the degree of happiness among immigrants in every country, where Finland scored highest.
The report, an annual publication by the UN's Network of Solutions for Sustainable Development, said all Nordic countries have scored high points in healthy longevity, social support, freedom, trust and generosity.
