“The PKK is a threat to Sinyar, across borders in northern Iraq, against Turkey,”, adding that this group is a terrorist and the United States wants to get out of this area.

Describing Turkey as an ally NATO, Matis reiterated that the US supports Ankara, reports “Hurriyet”, the Periscopi broadcast.

The defence secretary has preferred to contact Turkish authorities directly, including the media, because it is a “issue for Turkey very sensitive”, referring to PKK militants.

In Sinyar, an estimated 3,000 PKK militants are present, where they are being trained by military experts, according to television director-general “Turkmenel”, Yalman Haceroglu, who had interviewed several PKK members in the country.

On March 25th, Iraqi troops were deployed in Sinyar, as several PKK group members were withdrawn from this district days ago.

Turkey's President Recep Tayip Erdogan has declared that his country will not allow Sinjari to become a bet PKK.

“We have launched a dialogue with the Turkish government,” said Mattis.

“We are pushing the issues forward. We're not limping. So far, as you have noticed, there was no movement in Manbij,” added US Secretary of Defence./Periscopi/
