Serbian authorities today declared the state of emergency from the risk of floods in some areas in the south of the country due to the melting of temperatures, which has brought large amounts of water inflating rivers and provoking their exit from bed.

The flood risk is huge in the areas of Prokuplje, Zitorya and Doljevac, in southern Serbia, not far from the border with Macedonia and Kosovo”, says the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs's case communique, accompanying Atsch.

Authorities were urged to declare the state of emergency also because of weather forecasts that, according to the synoptians, will still result in the melting of large quantities of snow as well as the continuation of rivers.
