Gevdet Qeric, chairman of the KLA Council for the Protection of Veterans, has said the work of the Jashari family and legendary Commander Adem Jashar, should be honored and more precious.
As warriors, we see it as an additional obligation to honour the work and sacrifice of the family Jashari and the legendary commander, Adem Jashari”, the government said at KTV's interactive.
He has said it has been an additional motive for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to mobilise and fight for freedom after the March 1998 events in Prekaz.
The government says that the work of Adem Jashar is being respected, but it says it should be respected and appreciated even more because the Jashar family has fallen for our freedom, Koha.net reports.
Speaking of the failure to maintain the “Jashari” complex in Prekaz, Qrerici said those objects are heritage and should be treated as such.
Kosovo's <x0) institutions have not dealt with them. It is noted that he has been severely damaged. But, I think this legacy should be preserved”, he said.
While, in regard to today's solemn session of the Kosovo Assembly, where there was a lack of many MPs, he said it is inconsistent on their part as it comes to major works of the Jashar family.
Speaking of the fanned lists of war veterans, the chairman of the KLA's Council for the Protection of Veterans said it has made the fighters see differently from the people.
“The fighter of The KLA is seen differently in the eyes of the people following the swelling of veterans' lists. I've had a chance to visit the cemetery of American fighters in Germany and about 200 meters before we got close to it, and the phones didn't work for the fact that they needed quiet. Unfortunately, we don't have such respect”, Qariqi said.
On the other hand, Curriqi also spoke of veterans' pensions, saying that this entire best treatment of them came after the pressures they themselves made to the state organs.
In a conversation with State Prosecutor's investigators, Curriqi said he has offered them easier ways to find out who was not in the war.
The easiest way to use KLA soldiers' archives. It is the archives and the State Prosecution can be based on those archives to see the exact number of KLA soldiers. There are three archives, and in all three they can be found all names. It's not 60 grand veterans, but it's about 15 to17 thousand of these. Even the Chief Parliamentary [Cade Veselin] has admitted that the lists have swollen, but unfortunately, no law bodies are being taken with this work”, Qeric stressed.
And as far as I've seen, it's just the Shala Zone that's done well, while in other areas there's been a flurry. There are times when a 13-year-old is on the list and this is done to earn materially. Politics has been what made it”, he said.
The government also spoke of its commitment to politics, being on the list for MPs from the Vetevendosje Movement ranks. He says it has been the request of both Movement and fellow fighters to be key to politics, but says he is very committed.
He says, even though he's already politically listed, he doesn't make any such distinctions about protecting veterans' rights.
I made no difference. When I had the opportunity I tried to help all veterans, regardless of their political orientation or areas from which they came from”, he added.
He says he has not dealt much with the latest problems of the Vetevendosje Movement because he says he has had health problems “from the wounds of war”.
For the Special Court, Kariqi said it is an unfair court because she is not dealing with the crimes Serbia has committed in Kosovo.
The International Union has sidelined crimes, the massacres of Serbs against Albanians. I'm not against the investigation, but to be fair to all”, he stressed.
In terms of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's statement, who had called American Ambassador to Kosovo Greg Delawi, “palaco”, Qrerici says this statement is reckless.
Haradinaj's “Declarations are unacceptable. I appreciate the US for the liberation and construction of Kosovo, and we should be careful in relation to the US”, he said.
