Many patients who go to Kosovo hospitals from the latter happen to return with infections, writes the newspaper “Voice” today.
The rate of hospital infections in Kosovo is very high and confirms the National Institute of Public Health.
More precisely, microbiologist Lull Raka has reported to the newspaper “Voice” that two-thirds of Kosovo patients get hospital infections.
According to him, Intensive and surgeon care are the most endangered of these infections.
“Infections are an integral part of health care in all countries of the world. In intensive care of the world's most developed states every fourth patient receives hospital infections, while in underdeveloped countries, including Kosovo, two thirds of patients receive hospital infections. Intensive care even the surgical departments are the most dangerous pieces”, he has declared.
Raka has shown that Kosovo has no budgetary subcategor for such infections.
Kosovo holds no sub-budget categories for preventing hospital infections. Without a budget it's harder. The biggest problems are in hospitals because it's higher-level care. There should be regular institutional support and oversight in various departments, which are more frequent for address. There must be regional and international co-operation”, he said..
