Cultural heritage institutions have fulfilled the warning that they will ban the work on remodating the former “Brotherhood-Bashimi” in downtown Pristina.
Because the project had not received approval from the Kosovo Institute for Protection of Monuments on Saturday, Chief Cultural Heritage Inspector Berat Hadri, along with Inspector Gjjlane Hoxha, has been put on hold, and work has been suspended today, writes “Koha Ditore”.
The project was supposed to be approved by the IKMM, because the space where the work had begun is a crossroads among the three monuments.
Works will continue to remain suspended until the Kosovo Institute for Protection of Monuments commission examines the project and makes a decision. This commission today (Monday) will hold meetings.
The ruins of small Hamam in the court of the Kosovo Assembly, the nearly a century old House, owned by Gazmend Abrashin and the Charshia Mosque, make the “Adem Jashari” square safe because of the monuments. While the monument that shapes the triangle is not under protection as cultural heritage assets.
