Eight arrested in Brussels suspected of terrorism

Eight people were arrested today in the Brussels neighbourhood of Molenbeek, following a series of raids under a terrorism file, according to a source close to the investigation, confirming a tip of Belgian daily “La Dernière Heure”

“The investigators doubted the preparation of a” assassination, according to the same source.

“The suspects were sent for hearings before an investigative judge who will decide today on their sentence and placed them in custody or not”, the source points out.

Molenbeek, which is a very popular and high-level citizen community of Moroccan origin, has earned a reputation as a hidden base of international jihadism.
