Former Pristina chairmanial candidate from the Democratic League of Kosovo, Arben Abrashi, has led to the Constitution's election of Shpend Ahmeti to head of the capital, which concerns the assessment of the second round of runoff in Pristina.
He says this decision has come after a several-month job with local and international experts, based on two provisions where he claims they were violated.
“After several months of work by local and international experts who have been in co-operation with a university, we have submitted it to the constitution for the validity of the second round. I'm based on two constitutional articles where we think they were violated during this” process, he told Express.
The Shpend Ahmeti, who had been competing by the Vetevendosje Movement, has emerged as the winner of the Pristina chairmanial elections, also receiving the second mandate to run the capital.
Ahmeti won these elections after counting conditional votes, by mail and persons with disabilities.
He received 861 votes, while LDK's Arba Abrashi has received 733 votes -- 19 ballots have been invalid, and three blank ballots.
In the round of run-off Ahmeti had received 41 thousand and 401 courses, his counter-Candidate from LDK, Arba Abashi, had 41 thousand and 164.
