In the final address, Limaj himself said he has been convinced of innocence since the beginning.
I've been convinced of innocence since there was no evidence, but I'm convinced that the prosecution itself knew there was no evidence. Even if the court review failed to find the taskmaster, and the commanding officer, I consider that for the damaged families, it has been satisphacial, since it has proved that the tendency to embed has been unsuccessful”, Limaj said.
Limaj's lawyer, Tahir Rrecaj, has rejected prosecutor Drita Hajdari's stance, which demanded that Fatmir Limaj be found guilty of war crimes.
I consider that both in the indictment and in the final word, the prosecutor has assessed the evidence unilaterally and selectively, taking only those pieces of evidence or evidence that she believed go in favour of the”, Rrecaj said.
Such a thing, according to the Case, is contrary to the principle of fair judgment and the state prosecution mission.
The perpetrators of the murder, four masked persons are unknown and have not been identified as members of the KLA, Rhecaj added.
“No one has said Limaj knew there would be a killing”, Rhecaj said, and called the word prosecutor Hajdari's word speculation.
The procedure has had to prove the identity of four masked persons, perpetrators of the assassination, to exist command responsibility”, he added.
The missile has proposed release from the prosecution in the absence of evidence. According to him, it has not been proven that Limaj may be responsible for these murders.
