Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has called on lawmakers to vote on Demarcation with Montenegro the next day. It requires that this be done unconditionally. The chief of state says Kosovo citizens need imidia for free movement, like all other Europeans. According to him, no one has the right to hostage to the country's European future.
His full post:
Tomorrow is a special but very significant day for our European future. For the first time, our country is visited by European Commission President Juncker, with a higher-level delegation.
Those of us expect the demarcation vote to publicly confirm implementation of visa liberalisation criteria from Kosovo institutions”.
Once again, as president of the country, I invite the entire political spectrum represented in the Kosovo Assembly since tomorrow's session -- indiscriminately -- to be voted on by demarcation with Montenegro.
Kosovo's citizens need imidia for free movement, like all other Europeans. No one has the right to hostage to the country's European future.
Neither those who claim to put new conditions for voting nor those who, on the one side, express the goodwill of voting the agreement, but require postponement of the vote. Besides voting for ratification, everything else is just a fraud.
Therefore, I believe in the responsibility of MPs that tomorrow they will think and vote in service to citizens, and none of them will enter the non-European agenda.
The eventual delay or not voting for ratification tomorrow implies confirming the isolation of Kosovo's citizens by its elected, on the most important day of the visit by European Commission President Juncker. HTH
