The country's president, Hashim Thaci, has stressed that the demarcation must be passed with a common political consensus.
President Thaci made these comments in an interview on the “D” show at RTV Dukajini.
“I am in ongoing discussions with Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselin, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and some opposition parties, all are aware that the quick ratification of the demarcation paves the way for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens”, Thaci has said.
Speaking about Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic's visit, the president added that this visit is extremely important, as it is the first Montenegrin prime minister to visit Kosovo.
President Thaci struck that the demarcation is not the issue of the Kosovo-Montenegro conflict and that he hopes ratification of the Demarket agreement will be completed within this month.
I can't speak with date and day, but I believe in the near future this agreement will be closed. I hope it happens within this month, but this will depend on passing egos and personal resentment”, Thaci stressed.
The president added that “should be doing our own work, and the sooner we complete the ratification of Demarket”.
