UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for an immediate halt to escalation in Syria, since Israel has undertaken air strikes within Syria, which was destroyed by civil war, which began in 2011.
United Nations spokesman Stephanie Dujaric said last night that Guterres “is following him for the imminent alarming military escalation in Syria and dangerous spread along his own”.
Furthermore, Dujarric stressed that Guterres has indicated that all sides in Syria and the region should respect international law in the period of increasing violence, including Israel's air strikes against Iranian-backed positions and the intervention of Turkish forces in the northern part of Syria”.
Dujarric said Guterres “has called on all to work on halting immediate and unconditional escalation of violence and to show content”.
