Vetevendosje Movement MP Rexhep Selimi, speaking of scandals in Kosovo's Inspectorate and Police and director for investigating economic crimes, has said Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj should take steps against the general director of police, tasking him with the main responsibility for the situation in the Kosovo Police.
Selimi said the Inspectorate in the Kosovo Police and the directorate for investigating economic crimes has been discredited to the ground because of the leaders installed in these institutions.
“Now everything is clear, in a place where the chief state prosecutor is caught for the jurispodens exam, where the director of the Department of Economic Crimes Investigations beats the director of the public institution in the middle of Pristina and doesn't repent, in a place where we see hundreds of thousands of Euros in the media counting in the accounts of top PK officers and doesn't approve of protagonist, in a place where we hear in the media scandals like the head of the IPK's threatening subordinates for doing illegal work, when all of these result in the end of each other's defense, then we have to have a different set up with the crime mechanism. So it seems, the State seized! This is not a fantasy”, Selimi said.
Selimi called on the interior minister, who, in line with his competencies, will also take action with Police Director General, charging him for the current situation in the Kosovo Police, as the Police Director would have to take steps against the subordinates caught in carrying out criminal acts and not protecting them.
He sought to dismiss anyone involved in such works so that the prosecution could be given a way to investigate.
