The summit of the Western Balkans, where the prime ministers of the 6 countries are present, which aspire to join the European Union as soon as possible.
Present among other political leaders, Prime Minister Edi Rama has stressed the importance it has for Albania and our neighbours to start negotiations with the EU.
To argue that he took the example of Serbia and Montenegro, which benefited economic growth and increased foreign investment and interest.
“We have intensive co-operation with the EU, but we hope to continue on this road walking to other levels. We had good talks in the Bulgarian presidency. We believe much to move forward with a single vision, and this will change the entire environment in the region”, Rama said.
The Albanian prime minister stressed that “is not seeking to become part of the EU immediately, but we are seeking to start membership negotiations”.
You must look at all the efforts of each Western Balkan country in terms of transformative measures for what is required of us. I call on the EU, if they no longer have money for us, it is OK, but to be more generous with us, as we will thus have a safer EU”, he said.
