250 thousand euros of compensation are demanded by Atifete Jahjaga, the two partners of Shyhrete Berisha, Arben and Xhelal Berisha, who have today charged him with slandering former Kosovo president.
Arben Berisha and Xhelal Berisha from Suhareka have filed charges with the Civil Department of the Pristina Foundation Court against Atifete Jahjaga, in connection with her statement, in the case of Shyrete Berisha's widow.
Sjete Berisha had become a media topic since for 17 years she ran into courts demanding her property rights. Her partners refused to give half the house, where Berisha had lived with his husband and children until 1999 when he also lost his entire family from the Serbian Army.
Now that Arben Berisha and Xhelal Berisha have been forced by the Court to give half of the Shyhrete Berisha house, brothers have also entered a court battle against Jahjaga, who had lobbied for Shyrete Berisha and her right.
Insander has secured the indictment filed by the Berisha brothers against Jahjaga.
Arben and Xhelal Berisha demand 250 thousand euros in compensation from Jahjaga, for a statement her to their family, which they consider “insulting and slandering”.
<x) 02/L-65, against slander and insult)”, says the indictment filed by the Berisha brothers.
Jahjaga was declared in the case of Shyhrete Berisha in March 2017. Cause for raising the indictment against her has become Jahjaga's statement that Shyhrete Berisha “has been dragged from her house”.
“How can we, the humble in the quota of thirty percent, promoters and promoters of women's rights, allow a woman to crawl out of her house where for years she has collected memories of her best loved ones who fought for our freedom took her illegally?”, Jahjaga asked.
In her statement, Jahjaga had come up with the woman who had lost her husband and four children during the 1999 Kosovo War, and after 2000, she had opened a judicial dispute to restore the house her enemies had taken from her: Arben and Rachel.
Jahjaga had strongly supported the woman who, in addition to the pain of losing the entire family, was denied the right of the house.
In many of her speeches, she had named “rast of Shyhrate Berisha a disgrace of justice institutions”, and when after more than 17 years Shyhrete Berisha gained the right to ownership, Jahjaga had written that this decision had enjoyed her.
Kosovo's justice and society unfortunately left him depressed for a long time, facing judicial conflicts, as if it were not enough for her to have been the pain with which she had lived all these years after losing her entire family in the Berisha family massacre from Suhareka during the war in Kosovo”, Jahjaga wrote in June last year.
Meanwhile, the lawyer for the Berisha brothers, Vahide Braha, has said today that the initial session on this occasion will be held this month.
The initial “session will be held on February 14th at the Pristina Constitutional Court”, Braha told Insider.
The newspaper has also tried to contact Selim Selim Selimi, Atifete Jahjaga's lawyer, and is awaiting an answer from him.
