Limaj's idea of demarcation, AAK calls it improvised

The issue of demarcation with Montenegro is one of the issues that remain the main topic of our institutions. However, it has been dragging on for years, even though it is one of the conditions for visa liberalisation for the country's citizens. Finally is Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, who has held a meeting in Montenegro and says he has an idea for resolving this problem.
He says he believes that if the two governments -- Kosovo and Montenegro -- show readiness to correct the eventual errors, always based on the agreement reached, then ratification of this agreement by Kosovo should not pose a problem.
However, Deputy Prime Minister Limaj has explained that all this idea is still being discussed with partners within the Kosovo Government.
“I believe that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has the opportunity still to work together with Montenegro's Government to find a common solution, which would not affect any country's interests, would respect the interests of the two countries... There is sufficient space for our two governments to take vows and obligations to improve and correct each point, where it is estimated there are concessions or errors during that agreement, and where mistakes are corrected, if there are”, he added.
And the head of the Vetevendosje Movement Parliamentary Group, Glauk Konjufca, says they have not seen any other version of the demarcation and that all he has seen about Limaj's proposal is the one who has appeared in the media, since they have not been invited by anyone and not by Limaj to discuss his idea of resolving this problem.
“We have not seen any versions brought to the Kosovo Assembly, which would differ from the previous version of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, of Mr. Meha and his state commission. All we know is the work of another commission, which has written a report that has introduced us as an MP and which has found out, which shows that the work of Meha's preliminary commission has committed major violations and mistakes and that these should be improved and not be voted into a version that has been brought to the Kosovo Assembly at the time of the Mustafa Government and which has been signed by Hashim Thaci and Skender Hyseni. That version alone is in the Kosovo Assembly. Suppose we have not even been invited by Mr. Limaj or anyone who has thought of another solution, we have not been invited to a negotiating table or table to examine where his idea is, all I've seen is in the media, that Mr. Limaj has said he has a solution but a solution he has not talked to anyone from the opposition and with other political forces”, he said.
He says they're willing to talk to anyone who thinks the demarcation should be discussed, but he's convinced that the current version should collapse.
We're willing to talk to anyone who thinks the demarcation should be discussed. Let's sit in advance, before he comes to the session because I think this version of demarcation, if he's just passing by and coming to the session, he should be thrown down by MPs from the Kosovo Republic of Kosovo”, he said.
Even Ahmet Isufi from the AAK says he must first come to the Assembly, the first version of the demarcation, and it will fall and start new procedures. While asked about the idea of Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, he says the improvises are not good in this case.
The former ruling commission's first version must come to the site, collapse in the Assembly, and start procedures for an exact assessment of Kosovo's territory with Montenegro. Then both governments will sit down and consider this if no reconciliation occurs, then it will go to arbitration. There have been different ideas, but they have not been worth it because MPs are aware that Kosovo has lost land in terms of the first version, so the improvises are not good in this case”, he said.
In the LDK, they continue to call for the current version of demarcation to be processed in the Assembly and approved. LDK parliamentary Group chief Avdullah Hoti says the LDK fully supports this agreement.
We expect and demand that soon the agreement on ratification of demarcation with Montenegro be prosecuted in the Kosovo Assembly. The LDK fully supports this agreement. We are determined that immediately after the demarcation vote, the Government will resign”, he said.
