Kosovo minister sick, doesn't go to Commission for Reporting

Interior Minister Flamur Sefaj has not gone to the Commission for Security and Internal Affairs today to report the latest developments in the Police Inspectorate.

Minister Sefaj's absence was said to have occurred because of health causes.

Regarding the events in the IPK, Vetevendosje MP Rexhep Selimi has proposed forming a task force for overseeing the enforcement of the Law for Inspectorate in order to identify those irregularities that have emerged and for recommendations issued by the working group to be recommended for any of the hearings.

MP PDK member Fatmir Xhelili, of the Security Commission, stressed that the Inspectorate is a very important mechanism, but unfortunately by a good job he has done, has fallen into an organisation that has started dealing with itself.

He said he opposes forming the working group to monitor the current situation, but in the subsequent phase because at this stage they can intervene as well as investigations are under way.

But MP Selimi has given the reasoning why the task force should be formed for overseeing law enforcement. According to him, the Commission is an overseer's body and is in its capacity to form the working group. Even AAK deputy Muharrem Nitaj said he does not like forming any group without being the minister in the report first.
