During 2017 the Austrian passports received 9271 persons, which is 7.5 percent more than a year ago.
Mostly naturalised there have been from the Bosniak community, with 1,300 people, then Turks 779, and third place for receiving Austrian citizenship come Kosovars, with 664 sash. Serbs, with 557 naturalised, are in fourth place, Heute.at writes.
More than a third of naturalized people, or 35 percent, are people born in Austria, while 37 percent are younger than 18.
Since 2003, as with 45.112 “wastriacs, new” is considered an absolute record, the number of foreigners who received the Austrian passport has continued to decline.
Thus, in 2010 that number had dropped to 6190, which is also the other extreme.
From 2011, then a slow rise (6754) started to reach 2017 at 9271.
