In a response to the media, the KDR says that based on Constitution and Law, the judicial system is independent, fair, apolitical and impartial and provides equal access to all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
“Respecting judicial power and implementing judicial decisions is a duty for all citizens and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, regardless of ethnic, religious, racial, educational level, or state-functionors. The law guarantees protection of human rights and legal means that are entitled to exploit all parties in the procedure. Any excess of constitutional and legal authorisations is considered intervention in the work of the judiciary”, the KDR response said.
The “therefore, in this case, we request from the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo as an institution that has issued the Constitution and the laws on which the judicial system functions to respect them and assist the judicial system in fulfilling the mandate to strengthen the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo”, is further said in response.
The reaction comes after Kosovo Assembly deputies have approved recommendations presented by the Vetevendosje Movement about condemning its activists, following the debate held yesterday. The recommendations were approved by 40 votes per, 10 against and 13 abstentions.
