At least 83 children, most Syrians, have been killed during January, the bloodiest month in the conflicts that have swept their country in the Middle East and North Africa, U observed today. NICEF.
“Intensification of violence in Iraq, Libya, Syria, the Palestinian state and Yemen have had devastating consequences for children's lives”, the regional director of the community stressed U n NICEF for this region, Geert Cappelare.
In January alone, at least 83 children were killed (...) in conflicts, suicide attacks or have lost their lives from the cold by fleeing war zones”, he underlined.
This is about kids, kids! (...) who paid the highest price for wars for which they are not responsible”, Cappelare added.
“in Syria, where war has started since 2011, 59 children have been killed over the last four weeks”, according to the U. NICEF.
In Yemen, 16 children have also lost their lives in the attacks on this site of the Arabian Peninsula in chaos on different fronts.
