The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development has made a decision to close the hunting season for the period 2017-18. The hunting season for certain types of wild animals on the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo will close on 12 February of this year.
The closure of the hunting season is made at the request of the UKPZHR Forestry Department, which has estimated that there is a reduction of wildlife, all of this as a result of illegal hunting, degradation of natural habitats, and especially forests, non-competitive climate conditions, and because of the inefficient management of wildlife.
This decision is obliged to implement Kosovo Forest Agency, the Federation of Kosovo Hunters, country managers, the Food and Veterinary Agency, as well as the Municipal Directorate for Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development.
