Pay killer Efthymiou Efthymious was expelled from the Greek Police ranks in 2012 after a long career of 20 years since 1992.
He was part of Greek special police forces until he was found to be involved in an international drug trafficking network. It is learned that the former Greek police officer was arrested during an Interpol operation in Frankurt, Germany a few years ago. It was found that 42-year-old Efthymiou Efthymious was involved in cocaine trafficking in this country.
It is not known how the former Greek police officer was released following arrest for involvement in drug trafficking. However, he was excluded from the Greek Police structure following the discovery that he was involved in this criminal activity. Shortly thereafter, he was also charged with smuggling illegal immigrants to the Greek-Albanian border.
The second time he's been arrested is our country. During a good organised operation by the Tirana Police, former Greek police officer Efthymiou Efthymious was arrested on February 2nd as the direct execution of 41-year-old Defrem Kasmi, the event on January 29th.
Three others were taken along as accomplices, and the organiser of Aurel Hoxhallari was declared in the search. The former Greek police officer in the role of the assassin denied ahead of Albanian investigators to have Defrem Kasmin executed, saying he had come to Tirana as a tourist. But his testimony does not convince the police.
Sources from police say Efthymiou Efthymious are suspected to have been paid about 25 thousand Euros to kill 41-year-old Kasmi. At the moment of his arrest, the former Greek police were found to be Euro and Leke, allegedly to be payment for the “tasked”. He had arrived in Tirana several days before executing Kasmin, who he was following and keeping under surveillance. Ephthymiou Ephthymious stood in an apartment in the capital, which he rented.
