“We want to see enlargement in the Western Balkans, but we don't want to see entry without meeting the conditions. They have not yet met the conditions, and some are far from it. Border disagreements will be resolved as many of them”, Juncker stressed in front of the European Parliament.
While he stressed that 2025 is not a year when Serbia and Montenegro will enter the EU, but rather as an indicator and encouragement date.

General Claude Juncker stressed that Serbia and Montenegro, as progressive countries, received a new date that must speed things up.
He added that the EU wants to extend “to” its hands to its partners in the Western Balkans and help them continue their difficult European integration journey. I believe that Serbia and Montenegro can cross this difficult road”, the president of the European Commission said.
