The Appeals Court announced today that it has suspended the detention measure against Frasher Krasniqi, At and Arifi and Egzon Halit, who in November last year were sentenced by the Pristina Constitutional Court along with the other accused of the case, Adea Batusha, who is protected in freedom.
Last Thursday, the Court of Appeals held a hearing where he heard the prosecution's claims requiring the rigors and lawyers seeking the release of activists from detention and changing the Constitutional Act by releasing them from prosecution or turning the case into retrial.
KA LLXO.com learns that the Court of Appeals has already decided that the case will be turned into a retrial at the Constitutional Court because of findings in the Constitutional Act.
In November last year, the Constitutional Court in Pristina issued verdicts on the four suspects in the case. At and Arifi, 25, was sentenced to 6 years in prison; MP Fraser Krasniqi, 29, was sentenced to 8 years in prison; Egzon Haliti, 24, was sentenced to 5 and a half years in prison, as well as Adea Batusha, 21, was sentenced to 2 years in prison.
These four were charged that last August 4th of the year in co-ordination had attacked the Kosovo Parliament, so criminal acts of terrorism were charged upon them, the act seen in Article 136 of the Kosovo Criminal Code, while in this case qualified according to paragraph 1 of this article, punishable by no less than 5 years in prison.
