The heads of state, including White House chief Donald Trump, Queen Elizabeth II and the President of the Swiss Confederacy, Doris Leuthard, conveyed their best wishes for the 10 years of her citizenship.
But, at this important anniversary for the country, some very special congratulations -- gathered together in a video by two Kosovo youth -- studying in Vienna, Austria, Freskim Mustafa and Galdi Hajredinaj -- arrive.
They have included messages sending Kosovo on this day of joy to it, people from different parts of the world. The video starts just with the congratulations of two young Serbs.
Hi, I'm Robert. And I'm Ina. We are from Serbia and happy birthday Kosovo!
I'm from Slovakia, happy birthday to Kosovo!
And I'm from Russia, happy birthday to Kosovo!
We're from Brazil, Kosovo happy birthday!
The video continues with the wishes of some girls from Mexico, Spain, Japan, Korea, Ukraine, Switzerland, Madagascar, and there is no shortage of joyful voices from Britain, Germany, Portugal, and many other countries.
Kosovo, Europe's newest state, celebrates the 10 years of independence recognised by 115 other countries in the world -- a figure for which President Hashim Thaci clashes with Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli, who numbers two more recognitions.
