Kosovo has entered the final phase of dialogue with Serbia, and with this President Hashim Thaci has warned the creation of a Unity Team, which will take responsibility from this dialogue.
His adviser, Blerim Shala, in an interview for Rubik talked about what the text from the normalisation of relations might look like.
Shala stressed that they would insist that the agreement be forwarded with recognition of Kosovo's citizenship by the Serbian side.
He said that within the text there can be no longer <x0-density which has played a role in the past”.
The international binding agreement must contain a basic political material. What the normalisation of Kosovo relations means Serbia, and then normally all technical agreements reached so far”, he has said.
Shala cited the European Union strategy, where no state can become part of it unless it has regulated borders.
That, according to him, comes from the EU's experience with Croatia and Slovenia.
This means that Kosovo and Serbia in one of the annexes, but also in the basic text of the international binding agreement should say that within this period, 12 months or 24 months they will regulate the state border”, he explained.
With that, he also mentioned Serbian President Vucin, who weeks ago mentioned that Kosovo and Serbia should have regulated borders.
“We think that the issue of normalisation, its finale will mean recognition of Kosovo by Serbia”, he has said.
“This will be written in an explosive manner, there is no binding agreement which does not assume that Kosovo will not be a UN member state”, Shala concluded.
