The US Senate voted early Friday morning to adopt a combined bill to finance the government by 23 March and a two-year federal budget.
Several hours later the law was passed by the House of Representatives, which voted 240 to 186 in its favour.
The US government closed Thursday at midnight after Congress failed to meet the deadline to renew federal government funds.
This is the second case of the government's partial closure in less than a month. The Democrats blocked a funding bill in January, causing a three-day closure of the federal government, mainly due to the approach of the programme's expiration date DACA of former President Barack Obama's administration for undocumented immigrants who entered the United States at an early age.
The law, which 71 senators voted for, while 28 opposed, dragged into the Senate on Thursday evening since one of his opponents, Senator Rand Paul, refused the accelerated vote. In a marathon speech, he said the two-year budget would be “placist treasurer”.
