Prostitution is among the biggest problems in Europe today. According to the data, the figures are very alarming, as thousands of girls fall prey to prostitution.
Like many girls Natasa is a used Albanian girl who has agreed to talk about this phenomenon and has told her entire story about the English media “The Independent”.
The Dutch media “The Independent” has dedicated it to an article involving the entire prostitution problem in Britain.
“The countries of trafficking target children and adults from all types of demographics, regardless of education, lifestyle or age. As “Natasha” A young woman I've recently met I figured out her horror”, begins writing her English journalist.
Here's the whole article.
Imagine the university's conclusion, going on vacation to meet your boyfriend's family and then finding yourself betrayed by your love, trapped in a brothel nearly 1500 miles from home and forced into prostitution. That's exactly what happened with Natasa and she wants to tell her story to make it clear that anyone can be manipulated by traffickers who are intent on doing harm.
Sex dealer victim sentenced to 472 years in prison: “
Two years ago, 21, she was at the end of her university career in Albania. She had met another student, “Pjetri”, for several months and was excited about a future trip to see his family in Belgium. It would be the first time she would leave Albania, and the plan was to spend several weeks in Europe so that she could get to know her partner's family, with the intention of getting married. Natasa knew she was going to spend next year in forced prostitution.
What happened to Natasa is by no means unusual. The numbers are scary.
In the past five years, 89 million people experienced a form of modern slavery, reports the International Labour Organization 2017. This same report stated that every day assigned to 2016, 40 million people were victims of modern slavery with some 25 million people in forced labor. Women and girls made up 71 percent of the modern victims of slavery.
Although she has been safe in Great Britain for more than a year, Natasa still fights tears when she remembers her experience. She explains what happened to him.
I've tried very, very hard, to erase. But sometimes it turns around, shows Natasa”
On arriving in Belgium, Peter had taken her to a friend's home. He told me: I'm not coming back. You'll stay here and see what happens later”.
Peter left home and never saw him again. That night, she was taken to a bedroom with a man she had never met before. He became her first customer.
At first, Natasha was in shock, but she soon grew depressed and depressed. As the customers arrived and left, so did her hope. She tried to take control of the situation by refusing to take care of herself, so the men would not choose her when they came home.
Months later, Natasha found out she was pregnant. Terrified, she was too far away for a break and her prisoners told her that they would continue working as soon as the child arrived.
I had to do something to get out of this”, she says. The only thing that stayed in my mind was getting out of this place. I would have done anything in order that I wouldn't have to go into what I did before”.

And one summer evening, when she was seven months pregnant, an opportunity came to save her. Natasha managed to get out of the brothel and leave. She caught what she could, and after she walked for the “about an hour”, she managed to convince a truck driver to help her. She told him she didn't want to know where she went, but she asked him to take her wherever she went.
Hours later, the truck doors opened, and Natasha realized that she was in Great Britain. She doesn't know where the driver left it, but she says, " “was my good fortune to help me”.
Recalling this moment, Natasa exploded. Whatever I saw on TV about Great Britain ... I was away... I'm going so far... so I was thinking about my family... and the baby in my belly”.
Her baby was safely born two months after her departure. It is now nearly 18 months since Natasa fled from her pimps and after receiving support from Hestia, an organisation working with victims of modern slavery, in collaboration with the Salvation Army, she has begun to rebuild her life in a safe environment. Reuniting with her family in Albania seems suspicious, as she fears their judgment.
Natasa still cannot work because she is still waiting for a decision on her asylum status, so her future is still unclear.
Despite its vulnerability, however, Natasa chose to speak of her grief so that she could show the world that anyone, regardless of their background, could fall victim to modern slavery.
