British journalist and analyst Tim Judah said today that he does not see close to reaching agreement between Serbia and Kosovo, despite claims by the United States that the agreement is near.
“I don't think much will happen and the situation will be more or less the same for a year”, Judah told the Serbian news agency “beta”, the KSP broadcast.
Asked how he comments US President Donald Trump's letters to the presidents of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vuciq and Hashim Thaci, that the agreement is “handing”, Judah said: “He does not know where you are”.
You remember the article in Mundo that Trump does not distinguish the Balkans from the Baltic. He doesn't know where you are. There are no voices from the Balkans, there are not many voices from the diaspora”, Judah said.
British analyst added that some people from the Trump administration, such as national security adviser John Bolton, were informed of the situation in the region, but that the US in general has no influence in the region.
“Thaci has no power in parliament, while the US has nothing to offer Vuciqi”, Judah said.
He estimated that the implementation from Trump's letter that the agreement is “in the hand” is contrary to what's happening.
“in the past two months, relations between Belgrade and Pristina have been much worse”, Judah said, adding that nothing indicates the agreement is near. /Periscopi
