Today at 27.12.2018 about 15:35, at the NLB bank branch in Istog, there has been an attempted attempted armed robbery case.
Police units have taken immediate police action to respond to the scene, where once they arrived at that location they encountered the suspected person who possessed a long firearm, and were suspected to have kidnapped two people.
The suspected person trying to escape the scene has fired guns at police officials who, in their own defense and citizens, have been forced to respond with firearms, neutralising and wounding the suspect.
During the police intervention, as a result of the exchange of firearms, a police official has been seriously injured, and the same has been sent for medical treatment at the Pec regional hospital.
All police units from the local, regional and central level have emerged at the scene to undertake all necessary police actions, initially making the site secure, personnel and citizens, in order to examine the site of the event, as well as investigation into the possible involvement of another suspected person.
During the examination of the site of the event, a hand grenade, a gungun and an AK-47 gun with ammunition was found nearby, which the suspect possessed.
Hours later, competent doctors confirmed the death of police official (I. D.), who served at the Istog police station, as well as the death of the suspected person (K. M.) this year of the birth of 1968 from the village of Sushica Istog.
The ongoing investigation has resulted in the alleged person's possession of past criminals committed in several European countries.
Kosovo police remain committed to carrying out their legal duties and responsibilities, with the goal of maintaining public order and security, preserving life and property, as well as preventing and arresting perpetrators of criminal acts.
