Former Kosovo Liberation Army Commander Sylejman Selimi, who is currently in prison, has sent a letter of condolences to the killed police family while asking Kosovo institutions to improve the law on police.
During wartime Izet Demaj had been part of the KLA in Kostunica.
His letter was read today during the funeral ceremony of police officer Izet Demaj in the tomb of martyrs in Kostare.
Allow me to express my condolences to the Demaj family, and I call on the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo to reflect and improve the law on the service of the Kosovo Police, and regulate it with that of the European Union, equip police officers with more contemporary equipment, weapons and other tools.
