Supplicating Mitrovica begins today

Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri has indicated that today he will launch the signing of the petition for the initiative of the change procedure ? The completion of the Law on Administration Borders of the Communists, with the aim of joining the Northern Mitrovica municipality with the southern one.

Citizens will have opportunity to sign the petition at several points organised by volunteers through different parts of the town of Mitrovica.

The Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica on November 30th has approved the conclusion under which the Government was proposed the initiative of the procedure for changing the municipal administrative boundaries law, with the aim of uniting Mitrovica.

However, the Ministry of Management of Local Power has not allowed the approved conclusion to be delegated to central institutions, viewing it as not legitimate.
