Prime Minister Edi Rama pledged today in co-operation with students of Tirana's Agricultural University that university tariffs will be lowered to 50% for all students of the first study programme, Bachelor in the public university system.
“We will cut tariffs for all, in the first phase for all 50%”.
Prime Minister Rama explained that this money will be paid from the state budget.
“and these obligations will be paid to the state”, he said. But, Prime Minister Rama went even further, clarifying that those with high averages will benefit up to 80% of the fee.
The “those with a higher average of 8, 9 and higher will have the fee lowered by 70-80%”, he said.
Meanwhile, students who have economically helpful families will also benefit from lowering the fee.
The “those with economic assistance will get paid by us for the first year, but if those with economic assistance continue to be 4 and 5, society cannot pay for them. Because your parents can't pay twice, your parents will only pay once. But in phase one, 50%. To improve in learning and to take advantage of the drop in tariffs”.
The head of government told the students that the issue will certainly be resolved after it is personally committed, as well as the government cabinet.
I've done this job and I'm not hiding. The Law on Higher Education has given autonomy to the university, and autonomy is responsible for the dean, for the reactor is responsible for the student. The government and I are here to address even those points that are not my responsibility, and that requires dialogue. I'm not telling you to stop the protest, but I'm telling you about the issues that you raise, let's talk about and dialogue to give solution to”, Prime Minister Rama said.
