Midfielders Erol Zejnullahu and Mergim Brahimi were among the best in the friendly held in Pristina on 13 November 2015 against Albania (2:2).
They received a lot of applause and they were the last ones to be Kosovo's representatives. In fact, not even with their clubs recently received much applause, Koha Ditore writes today.
A dark time is chasing both talented players. Because of unresolved documentation, no one today plays for Kosovo. FIFA won't let them. And to make matters worse, Brahimi doesn't have a team, and Zejnou God hasn't played a single match with his team, Union Berlin.
Zeynep's case in Kosovo is frozen until she solves the problem with her citizenship. He is a German citizen, and without permission he has also obtained Kosovo citizenship. Germany does not allow that, and for that the player has been penalised. She was also in danger of losing German citizenship.
Meanwhile Brahim has the same problem with Loret Sadik. Brahimi has taken advantage of the only opportunity FIFA gives for a replacement, when from Switzerland she went to Albania
