Ruci at the meeting with Chief Parliamentary Talat Xhaferi has also talked about developments in the region, with emphasis on reports between Kosovo and Serbia, with the case of two top parliamentmen stressing the need for resolving problems through dialogue.
“We welcomed the achievements of the Prespa Agreement (The Agreement with Greece on Name) and all efforts being made in the direction of changing the name, which would pave the way for membership in NATO and the EU. I guaranteed the Speaker of the Parliament Albania's full support for NATO membership. Certainly an important place. The situation took place in the Western Balkans, with which we underlined that the only way to solve problems is dialogue. They expressed common concern about increasing tensions between Serbia and Kosovo. Albania and Macedonia are making stabilising contributions to the entire Western Balkan region”, the chairman of Albania's Parliament, Gramoz Ruci, has declared.
Macedonia's Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi said with counterpart from Albania they have talked about the processes in Macedonia for implementation of the Agreement with Greece, co-operation between the two countries, but also processes in the region.
“As two neighbouring countries we also co-operate in terms of the country's EU and NATO integration. We agreed that only with dialogue can open-ended issues with neighbours be closed and that only in this way can problems” be overcome, Macedonian Assembly head Talat Xhaferi said.
Albanian chief parliament has also welcomed the adoption of the Law for the use of the languages of ethnic communities by encouraging institutions to work on its existence, alluding to Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, who refuses to decree it.
“Without question as I will inform the president of the Albanian Parliament's efforts for minorities, I will ask the same for the Albanian population in Macedonia. I would encourage every representative of Macedonia's state to make the institutional contribution to its realisation”, Ruci said.
