Rome bans fireworks for New Year's

Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi has signed this afternoon the ban on fire disposal, capsoles, explosive materials of the pyrotechnic games from 00.01 December 31st until 24th on January 1, 2019, across the territory of the city of Rome.
The mayor has motivated this decision with the explanation that “is the duty of the mayor to ensure security and protect the lives of citizens especially during festive events organised on the night of the end”.
“As evidenced by the experience of past years, this ordinance states, fireworks and pyrotechnic games have caused accidents especially in crowded countries and in the presence of minors, adding to the negative effects these blasts cause on animals. ”

In recent hours the Italian police of Naples have seized 2.3 tons of illegal fireworks. Three people and five others have been denounced.
Analysing pyrotechnic materials has proved their high risk due to chemical substances used during their manufacture.
While in the town of Turin Guardia di Finanza, there have been some 230 thousand illegal fireworks seized and uncovered 5 illegal warehouses of their deposit.
