Rama: We met the students ' demands, even decisions go beyond them

Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama published the Council of Ministers' decisions at a news conference Wednesday morning.

Among the decisions are the demands of student protesters, for which Rama said more than what they have asked for.

“not only for their demands, but other aspects that are placed on our attention, as the container element. We've drafted another college pact and we're going to make it public in the media for the next few months. We've made decisions about the student requirements, but they go beyond them. We have funding for the blind, the tetraplegic and paraplegic students, as well as those treated with economic assistance that will benefit a scholarship of $10,000 new. I would like to stress that 1 basis for supporting and financing the fee has been, but because of deviations in municipal councils it has been decided to do so directly by the government”, the head of the Albanian government added.

Second, he said, average students over 9 will benefit 100% financing of the study and will benefit the 1,000-dollar scholarship.

“3 we will give equal opportunities to all students by paying 50% of the study fee to those who paid 100% of their studies. So all students will pay 50% of the fee. Next year's academic year who doesn't have average below 6 will lose government funding. The decision goes into effect immediately, meaning that in January all these obligations will cover the government”, Edi Rama said at the media conference following the Council of Ministers' meeting.
