Austrian diplomat Wolfgang Petritsch said today that the European Union would have to talk with the US about transforming Kosovo's security forces into the military in order to find a common position on the issue.
Petritsch told reporters in Belgrade that Kosovo- Serbia should be a priority in any case and that security in Kosovo is already guaranteed by NATO and KFOR forces.
He commemorated that NATO, for example, opposes the manner of forming the army as it has been warned by Pristina, but that it is supported by the US.
The EU will now have to speak with the US, find a common language with NATO, and then talk with Pristina”, Petritsch said.
This, as he says, is crucial for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and certainly this issue does not help at this moment.
