At the recent meeting of the Council of General, held in 28,12.2018, after comprehensive analysis of the political situation, especially after the analysis of international circumstances and the possibility of involvement of key actors in reaching the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, particularly the US, the Movement for the Union considers the unity of Albanian political forces in Kosovo, with fair and courageous orientation, in order to use these circumstances to solve problems with Serbia.
The Movement for the Union considers that due to the reposition of key international factors involved in Kosovo-Serbia reports, Kosovo must from now on have two options on its negotiating platform.
1. The LB estimates that for Kosovo redefinition of borders must be the first option for resolving the remaining problems with Serbia. Repointing the borders also implies the decline of restrictions Kosovo's Constitution has as the product of the Ahtisaari Pack, the removal of the blocking privileges granted to the Serb minority, and, therefore, the full functioning of the state of Kosovo and the opening of opportunities for union with the Republic of Albania.
2. LB under these circumstances considers Kosovo to be a reserve option or Plan B should have full reciprocity in Kosovo-Serbia reports.
According to the LB, this means that in cases of failure of the first option -- that is, in the case of reaching an agreement on redefining borders -- there should not be a return to the Ahtisaari Pack, respectively, to the blocking privileges for the Serb minority reflected through the inability of constitutional changes, as well as a set of laws considered vital without the vote of this minority, and to the association of other unilateral and harmful agreements for Kosovo.
Otherwise, if Serbia requires their implementation, then it should implement the same rights for Albanians in Serbia as a whole, especially for those of eastern Kosovo, for Presevo, the Medvedja province, respectively. This reciprocity should go to countries guaranteed for Albanians and the same pre-priced judicial powers in the Serbian Constitution, such as the previous ones in the Kosovo”, the LB statement said.
