Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel said Wednesday that the European Union is insisting on the existing agreement on Britain's exit from the bloc.
Merkel, who on Tuesday met with Prime Minister Theresa May, said things are changing in London, the AP broadcasts. It did not give much detail but added that the European Union “does not intend to change the withdrawal agreement of Great Britain”.
Merkel expressed Germany's commitment to ensuring a regular British exit by the European Union.
Britain's prime minister, Theresa May, took a tour of conversations with European leaders in an effort to convince them to change the Brexit agreement, as the same does not have the support of the British Parliament.
If Britain leaves the European Union without a deal, the consequences are projected to be on financial markets and trade.
