A priest meditating on a forest in the Indian state of Maharashtra has died of a leopard attack, authorities say, the BBC writes.
Rahul Walke was being named under a tree” in Tadoba Forest, where tigers are stored, according to local media agency.
Walker was bound to a Buddhist temple within the forest, but he had walked to a very far and dangerous place to meditate.
Authorities have said they had warned the priests not to go too far into the forest. But this priest of the tribe had set it up.
I'd like to tell everyone not to enter the forest,” said Narawane, an official of this forest.
However, they already plan to catch the leopard. We have put two cages and a camera trap; we will try to calm the animal,” said further.
State officials have said they will give about 15 thousand euros [1.2m rupi] to Mr. Walker. /Periscopi
